FAQs
What’s Searchlight Christian Fellowship at UC San Diego?
We’re a campus student group that is all about the life, light, and love found in Jesus Christ. We want to make the most of our college years by studying the Bible to see how God is relevant in our lives, deepening our prayer life, and developing meaningful relationships with each other.
Maybe you’ve got questions about Christianity and don’t know where to start. Or maybe you’re looking for a home away from home during your college years. Either way, come join us for Bible Study and learn about God’s extravagant love together. Everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be a Christian to join our group.
When are the regular meetings?
We have weekly Bible studies Friday nights at 7:oo pm on campus at Center Hall, Room 218.
What can I expect when I come to Bible study?
“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20) This verse is what we try to live out here at Searchlight! We hold small group bible studies that usually meet for about an hour or two, which includes a time of praise and Bible study. We study a specific passage in the bible and then meet in small groups for discussion. Afterward, we have fun fellowship activities like bowling or playing games.
What if I’m not Christian?
No problem! Our group consists of both Christians and non-Christians who want to learn more about God. We encourage everyone to check out the claims of the Bible no matter what your background.
Do you have one-on-one bible studies?
We offer opportunities for one-on-one bible studies for a more in-depth study of the word of God.
